Welcome to the NAMB Learning Lab information overview! The North American Mission Board (NAMB) has established a Learning Lab Initiative. The Associational Initiative exists to create environments in which directors of missions and potential directors of missions can experience learning, growing, and empowerment spiritually, professionally, and personally to resource churches to make a kingdom impact in their context and culture.

25 associations have been chosen from a wide range of contextual Suburban, Rural and Urban settings. Each of these 25 associations model a serving and resourcing success. The Crescent Bay Association has been selected to be a rural inter-city model.

The Contextualized Strengths Learned From Crescent Bay West Los Angeles Association:
(What Crescent Bay Does Best…)

1. We have developed a process of strengthening existing churches resulting in significant healthy church growth.
2. We have set up a successful new church planting process.
3. We have been successful in unifying a multi cultural and multi ethnic association of churches. (African American, Anglo, Hispanic, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, Filipino, Eritrean, Hungarian, Arabic, Etc…)
4. We have established a strong Hispanic strengthening church ministry and Hispanic church planting movement.
5. We have built a strong partnership between our local churches.
6. We have successfully transitioned from a “Committee Structured Association” into a successful “Staff Team Led Association”.
7. We have moved from an association wide “Conference” type training to a very successful “One-0n-One Church to Church Workshops”.
