In this section our purpose is to give
you an overview of the Crescent Bay West Los Angeles Association (CBWLA).
Here we will describe the Structure, Purpose, and Shared Vision of the
Association we pray that you will catch our commitment in joining together
with an association of Great Commission Churches.

THE CBWLA CONSTITUTED STRUCTURE
|
|
AUTHORITY:
The Crescent Bay West Los Angeles Association is a non-profit corporation.
The Association is composed of cooperating churches of like beliefs in
Southern Baptist Faith and Doctrines. The structure of the authority of the
CBWLA Association is first and foremost NEVER to have any or exercises any
authority whatsoever over any church. Nor shall the Association interfere in
any way with any church. The CBWLA Association recognizes and upholds the
absolute Autonomy of all churches.

MEMBERSHIP:
A church of like faith desiring to become a voting member of the Crescent
Bay West Los Angeles Association must make Application indicating their
faith, principles, purpose and constituted structure. The application
requesting membership shall be referred to the Association Credentials
Committee which shall inquire from perspective church their Articles of
Faith, constitution, Organizational Structure, Etc.. Upon completion, the
Credentials Committee shall report their recommendation to the whole
Association for vote.

VOTING RIGHTS:
The Association is composed of church elected messengers. Each church shall
be entitled to (3) messengers (Church Elected Messengers Only) for the first
25 church members and (1) additional messenger for every 25 members. No one
church can have no more than 10 messengers.

OFFICERS:
Every Associational Officer, Moderator, Clerk, Committee Members, Treasurer,
Trustee, even the Director of Missions, every person must be presented and
voted for approval by the whole body of church messengers of the CBWLA
Associational Annual or Semiannual meetings. All Officers, Directors
Chairpersons, Committees, Councils, and Boards shall serve according to the
Associational job descriptions. Every Officer shall be elected yearly.

THE EXECUTIVE BOARD:
The Executive Board is a leadership body made up of the officers of the
Association, the Director of Missions, the leaders of each Associational
department, the pastor of each local church within the Association and two
(2) elected members for each local church. The purpose of the Executive
Board is to function between the Annual and semiannual sessions. This Board
is administrative in nature and deals with matters concerning the total
programs of the Association.

THE DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS:
The Director Of Mission (DOM) is a full time hired (Called) position. The
hiring of a Director Of Mission comes from a "DOM Associational Search
Committee" recommendation and vote from the full body of messengers at an
Annual or Semiannual meeting. The responsibilities of the DOM is to lead and
work within the structure of the CBWLA Association. The DOM works with the
Associational committees and Department Directors, Executive Board,
Associational Council and Chair persons to plan calendar events, set
budgets, and assist local churches in the Association.

The CBWLA association is located on the
west side of the Los Angeles basin. It's bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the
West, East Los Angeles on the East, touching a sliver of the base of Palos
Verdes to the South, and all the way up into Malibu to the North. The name
Crescent Bay West Los Angeles Association came from the visualizing of the
"Crescent Type" makeup of the ocean bay that stretches from Point Dume in
the north to Palos Verdes in the south. The total land area in CBWLA is 520
square miles. There are 54 zip codes within the area of the CBWLA Association.

* Hispanic population which is predominately in Zones 2 & 3 is increasing
to over 700,000 people (38% is Hispanic in the CBWLA)
* Black African American population which is predominately in Zones
2 & 3 is holding at 460,000 people. (26% is Black in CBWLA)
* Anglo Population which is predominately in Zones 1 & 4 is declining.
Presently there is 450,00 people. (24% is Anglo in CBWLA)
* Asian / Pacific Islander population is mostly located in Zone 3.
Presently the population is rising. (10% is Asian in CBWLA)

boundaries 63 different languages spoken. And as a result of this board
variety of cultures there are restaurants, malls, shops, theaters, markets,
as-well-as vest numbers of corporations and businesses tailored to each
cultural need. The phrase "The world has come to us" is today a reality in
CBWLA Association. Whether Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hispanic, Rumanian,
Middle Eastern, Vietnamese, Native American, African American, Anglo, or the
many, many others, the need is the same, they all need Jesus Christ as Lord
and Savior.

decreasing in CBWLA areas.
* The Percentage of Young Adults 18 - 24, Children, Youth, and Adults
45 - 64 is increasing in CBWLA areas.
* CBWLA Association has within it's boundaries one of the widest
variety of Lifestyles within the United States.
